Where should I apply Magnesium Oil Spray?

  • Most people spray it on their arms, legs, feet, and/or stomach. Some people with specific issues like leg or muscle cramps will spray and massage it onto that part of their body. We recommend gently massaging it into your skin. Once absorbed through your skin, the magnesium will be carried to different parts of your body.

Is topical magnesium safe to use during pregnancy?

  • Absolutely! Asutra Magnesium is safe to use during pregnancy. Many customers cite Melt Pain Away Magnesium Body Butter as being incredibly helpful in providing relief from sciatica and restless legs / leg cramps during pregnancy. Supplementing with magnesium during pregnancy is important as it supports building of bones, regulates insulin and blood sugar levels and the functioning of enzymes. As always, we recommend consulting your physician with any questions prior to using.

Asutra Magnesium Oil stings my skin. Is this normal?

  • We get asked about burning and skin sensitivity with capsaicin. Some users do experience a slight burning or itching sensation when they first try the products but that subsides after a few uses.  It is hard to know if it is the magnesium or the capsaicin or the combination that is yielding the sensation. Our best advice is to start small and build up your amount.  But you should take care to avoid your eyes and other mucus membranes as well as any scrapes or wounds.  And  make sure to wash your hands carefully and thoroughly after applying (remember – it comes from the chili pepper – no one wants to rub chili pepper on their eyes!).

How often should I use magnesium oil?

  • To replenish your daily dose of magnesium, we recommend 15 sprays of Asutra Magnesium Oil twice a day. We tested this and it truly takes seconds. The easiest way we found was to start and end our days with 15 sprays in the AM before getting dressed and 15 sprays in the PM before going to sleep. Really - it takes less than 1 minute total to get your daily allowance of magnesium and all its amazing benefits!

Any more helpful tips prior to applying Magnesium Oil Spray?

  • Yes! To get the maximum benefits, make sure your skin is clean; this will help the magnesium absorb better and faster. Try applying the spray after a shower, when your skin is clean and warm, and your pores are more open.

Where does your magnesium come from?

  • Our magnesium is sourced directly from the Zechstein Sea Bed in the Netherlands, an ancient sea bed protected from modern pollution.

Why do I feel a stinging or itching sensation?

  • If your body’s magnesium levels are low and you apply magnesium directly onto your skin, it may sometimes sting or tingle a little. This is not an allergic reaction — magnesium is found naturally in the body and is vital to good health. Your body is simply building a tolerance to magnesium. Over time and with gradual use, this sensation usually decreases.

Any helpful tips for applying Melt Pain Away Magnesium Body Butter?

  • The Asutra Magnesium Body Butter can be applied anywhere you’d use lotion. Most customers apply it to their arms, shoulders, back, legs (for restless legs/cramps), feet, and stomach.
  • To get the maximum benefits, make sure your skin is clean; this will help the magnesium absorb better and faster.
  • Try applying the lotion after a shower when your skin is clean and warm, and your pores are more open.

Why is topical magnesium better than magnesium pills?

  • Topical magnesium is ideal because it is more rapidly absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream, elevating low or depleted levels of magnesium much more quickly into your body than pills or supplements.

Is Asutra Magnesium Body Butter safe for children?

  • Yes, Magnesium Body Butter is safe to use on children.  However, please speak to your pediatrician first. Start very slowly and test on a patch of skin. Children's skin is more sensitive and delicate so please be very careful.
